During the several years spent researching and writing this book I was very privilaged and extremely proud that these men allowed me to share in their memories.

These men certainly lived up to the Regimental Motto

    WHO DARES WINS

This is an extensively researched book which contains new tales, it has an excellent nominal roll and many new and unseen photographs relating to the Sicilian and Italian campaigns.

The action at the Italian town of Termoli is regarded by the survivors as being the hardest battle ever fought by the men of The Special Air Service.

This book details many first hand accounts of life, and death, in the special forces in Italy during World War two.

Capo Murro Di Porco - Syracuse - Augusta - Bagnara - Termoli

July 1943  --  October 1943

This book is fully endorsed by many of the surviving soldiers, their families and friends.

It has also received a very good review in the Regimental Journal of The Special Air Service

They still consider themselves very proud to be known as
